Your choice

Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Allow analytics”. Choose “No thanks” to browse without it. Use “Cookie settings” in the footer to change your choice. We remember your choice in this browser for up to six months. Withdrawing permission stops future Analytics collection and removes accessible Analytics cookies; it does not erase data already sent.

What Analytics measures

With permission, Google Analytics measures page visits and engagement, along with clicks to Amazon, Etsy, email and Spotify where those links appear. Song plays are measured where audio players appear. This helps us understand how visitors find and use the website. Shop clicks are not confirmed purchases.

Analytics may process online identifiers, device and browser information, approximate location and the site that referred you. Our tracking code strips query strings and fragments from page addresses and referring addresses. It does not send email addresses or form contents as custom events.

Cookies and advertising

Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits. Our configuration sets these cookies to expire after six months. Google advertising storage, advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled in our tracking code. We do not use this setup for remarketing.

Google and external services

Google processes Analytics data on infrastructure that may be outside Australia. Read Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Any embedded players and external shops or social platforms operate under their own privacy policies. The Analytics cookie choice controls our Google Analytics setup, not those separate services.

Email updates and reading preferences

When you sign up for Very Private Inspections, we store your email address, newsletter consent, the consent wording and the time of your request. We send a confirmation link through Resend. Only after you confirm do we activate your subscription and send your first newsletter, including Chapter 1 and reader extras. Book news, offers and reader extras are included in the fortnightly newsletter.

Confirmation links expire after 24 hours. A short-lived, necessary cookie lets the website display your signup result for up to ten minutes. Visiting a confirmation or thank-you page alone does not subscribe you.

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and a personal preferences link. Any previously saved reading-stage and content preferences remain linked to your subscription. If you use the separate reading-stage control on Reader Extras, that choice stays only in this browser and is not linked to your email.

Resend processes email addresses and delivery events to send these messages, manage subscriptions and stop delivery after bounces or complaints. We keep consent and suppression records to honour your choices. Contact elirahope0@gmail.com to request access, corrections or deletion. We do not sell your email address.

Reader journey measurement

With analytics permission, we measure sample opens, visits to reader extras, retailer-link clicks and completed first-time email confirmations. Page visits are not subscriptions, and retailer clicks are not completed sales. Subscriber names, email addresses, personal confirmation links and reading preferences are not sent in these analytics events.
